Ocorrências de Manganês - Sedimentares.
A faixa manganesífera é constituída por 4 bacias lagunares onde se formaram os depósitos manganesíferos (Covelos; Lomba da Presa; Vale Fráguas - Ribeiro da Serra da Cabreira; Vila Nova de Monsarros; Fonte da Pipa) e cobre uma área com 8 Km de comprimento por 1,5 Km de largura. As camadas manganesíferas, que chegam a atingir 1,7 m de espessura, estão interestratificadas em camadas de grés vermelhos retianos.
