Eucrite, polymict
Fell 5 Oct 1827, 4 kg,

4 stones, the largest ~2 kg, were recovered after the 1827 fall of the Bialystok meteorite shower. Bialystok is a brecciated meteorite composed primarily of various eucritic pyroxene-plagioclase aggregates within a matrix rich in pigeonite and anorthitic plagioclase (i.e., it fits the definition of a polymict eucrite). However, both the range of its silicate diversity (orthopyroxene, olivine and tridymite are also present) and its silicate compositional variations are somewhat unusual (esp. orthopyroxene, Fs25-62). It is no surprise that before the current compositionally defined achondrite categories were adopted that Bialystok was taken to be a howardite. Its thoroughly brecciated textures resemble those found in howardites more than they resemble those found in the common cumulate and monomict eucrites.

According to the Catalogue of Meteorites less than 500 grams are still held in museums and other scientific institutions so it is perhaps understandable that very little has been reported on Bialystok in the last 2-3 decades.
