Ancient siderite mines in the area among Lake Pescegallo, Mount Ponteranica, and Salmurano Pass. These open-cut mines exploited two siderite veins, from 10 to 20 m in length and from 0.5 to 3 m in thickness, which crosscut the embedding gneiss.
