It would appear that the only specimens to have survived from the mining days are in the collections of the National Museum of Victoria. Investigation into these specimens has shown that they are not what they were first identified as back in 1870.
"Ulrich (1870) described 'pale blue spheroidal nobs resembling mamillated chalcedony' from the Ballarat and Clunes mining lease and identified them as mesolite" Testing in recent times has shown them to be thomsonite.
"Ulrich (1870) described a form of 'herschelite' occurring as thin platy crystals with chabazite from the shaft of the Ballarat and Clunes Mining Company and there is little doubt that this is levyne."

Description: "Only one small specimen of analcime has been preserved in the collection of the Museum of Victoria. It consists of a small vug of white to colourless, fracture, transparent trapezohedrons up to 4 mm in diameter."

Description: Aragonite occurs as colourless acicular crystals associated with calcite, thomsonite and chabazite.

Description: Calcite occurs as massive honey-coloured pieces associated with aragonite, thomsonite and chabazite.

Formula: (Na2,K2,Ca,Sr,Mg)2[Al2Si4O12]2 · 12H2O
Description: Chabazite has been recorded as coexisting with thomsonite but not descriptions are given. It is likely that it would be similar to the description of chabazite from the South Clunes area.

Formula: (Ca,Na2,K2)[Al2Si4O12] · 6H2O
Description: Three specimens of levyne exist in the collection of the National Museum of Victoria. In 2 pieces "the levyne occurs as isolated white, roughly hexagonal crystals, up to 3.5 mm across, in cavities in the basalt. In the other specimen there are abundant cavities lined with colourless chabazite crystals, but only one cavity carries levyne crystals. These form a network of thin (0.2mm), colourless plates, up to 3 mm across and with a hexagonal outline. Chabazite and levyne do not coexist in any cavity."

Description: On the same specimen as the Museum of Victoria's analcime specimen from Theodore Company Mine, is massive white natrolite filling a small vug.
Thomsonite-Ca
Formula: NaCa2[Al5Si5O20] · 6H2O
Description: "The thomsonite forms small pearly spheres up to 4mm in diameter, in vesicular basalt. The spheres are generally pale blue to grey with a translucent, gel-like appearance. Thomsonite also forms small white tuffs of needles on a few of the white spheres. Broken spheres show a compact radiating structure." May be found with chabazite, aragonite or calcite.
