History:
1846-1896-Operated by Martindale-50000 tons production
1908-1916 -Operated by Crown Gypsum Co-62000 tons production
1917- Closed. Operations were done through a tunnel from the river bank and an incline with 1 in 10 gradient.
Two main seams of gypsum and upper seam(1.2 m thick) of very pure white gypsum occurs at a depth of 21 m Lower seam of white, clean gypsum (upto 5m thick) occurs at a depth of 33m.
