An operating gold mine approximately 20 kilometres west of Kalgoorlie.
The Hornet mine has an open pit Indicated Resource of 169 Mt at 3.7 g/t yielding 20 000 ounces; and an Inferred Resource of 3 Mt at 1.5 g/t yielding 2 000 ounces of gold. The Underground mining figures show a Measured Resource of 129 Mt at 24.3 g/t yielding 101 000 ounces; an Indicated Resource of 123 Mt at 19 g/t yielding 75 000 ounces; and an Inferred Resource of 266 Mt at 7.5 g/t yielding 64 000 ounces of gold.
Modern mining began at Kundana in 1988, from several now abandoned pits. Mining began at Hornet in 2011. Hornet is 600 metres south of the Rubicon mine, and is accessed via the Rubicon decline.
