A canyon/valley located in the Sierra Nevada.

NOTE: The sparce data provided for this occurrence precludes further pinpointing of the exact locality. The coordinates provided are the coordinates of record for the Shannon Canyon in the USGS GNIS database. That database has a protocol for linear features such as canyons and valleys that provides coordinates of record for the mouth of the feature. In this case, that point is in the Owens Valley; however, incorporating it in this file allows the general location on the topo maps, which may be researched. Beyond the point where the canyon enters the valley (upstream), it divides into 3 forks. The data provided make no reference to any of the forks, or the main channel.
