Name(s) in local language(s):
Goldloch, Roßbachgraben, Amering, Murtal, Steiermark, Österreich
Ancient trial on a gold-bearing quartz vein. Located NE of the Theisinger mill in the Roßbachgraben, a northeastern branch of the upper Lavant valley. A vein with a similar mineralization crops out in the Teufenbachgraben, a little further southeast.
Goldloch at N47.03881 E14.76598, elev. 1060 m, one adit, located 3.9 km NE of St. Peter im Lavanttal on the old overgrown track up from the Rossbach-Creek to the Theisinger farm.
In 2003 this adit could be accessed by A. Pichler for about 20 m, but no traces of gold were found, but earlier records mention minor gold, hence the name.
The nearby Schwarzloch at N47.03883 E14.76699, elev. 1030 m, looks more like a cave.
See also Theisinger mill copper mine (Kupferschurf) and dump on the left side of the creek in Carinthia at N47.03708 E14.76476.
