Szymiszów, Skałka
The Szymiszów and Strzelce limestone deposits, along with those from Gogolin and Tarnowskie Góry, in the nineteenth century belonged to the most known and recognized in early Europe. In Szymiszów, there was a cement plant that was written in the NewYork Tribune in 1921, during the bombing of the insurgent battles.
Several larger and smaller quarries operated here. It is worth mentioning "Skalka" one of the more recognizable but no longer existing quarry. In the part of Szymiszw-Osiedle there was a larger quarry, on the maps from 1827 there is also a lime kiln. A quarry in the place of a rubbish dump, completely reclaimed. Smaller crows can be found in the nearby forests, towards Kalinów
