A Mn occurrence/prospect located in the NE¼ sec. 19, T3S, R8E, HM, 6.3 km (3.9 miles) ENE of Shannon Butte and 8.3 km (5.2 miles) S of Ruth, on the E side of a peak, 1 mile SW of the Double A Ranch, on the SW side of Mad River, on National Forest land (located claim). Discovered 1941. Owner Robert Hill and H. J. Anderson, California (1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a Mn deposit hosted in chert. The ore body is 0.61 meters thick. A 2 foot thick bed of low grade siliceous ore occurs in a massive reef of white chert. Local rocks include Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
Analytical data results: The ore grades at about 15% Mn.
