Upper Enchanted is an unorganized township. There is essentially no year-round population, but the township is criss-crossed with dirt roads used for logging trucks. The geology of the area is very complex, as it is near an ancient ophiolitic/tectonic suture zone. The area does contain brachiopod-bearing rocks, which contain the curiosity of chalcodite films on brachiopod impressions.
