Köppen climate type:
Township in the north-eastern quadrant of Marion County, Kansas. Identified as the area where limonite pseudomorphs after magnetite or pyrite were found, initially around 1900. These pseudomorphs were advertised by mineral dealers, but with the vague location of Kansas. In 1941 A.C. Carpenter published a brief article in the Transactions of the Kansas Academy of Science detailing a more specific location for these pseudomorphs, a mile north and 1¼ miles E of Lincolnville (on the John Reimer farm) in Marion County, which would place the location in Clear Creek Township. Additional locations for such pseudomorphs, noted by Carpenter in the article, include near Roxbury in McPherson County and Dickinson County.
