Originally located in Simsbury. These localities are now in the town of East Granby. Historically, Simsbury included both Granby and the western part of East Granby. East Granby became a separate incorporated town in 1858, formed from the eastern part of Granby, and the western part of Windsor Locks. These mines are the Higley Mine, the Old New-Gate Mine, and the North Hill Mine.
