Only 200 meters east (west?) of the town is located a place called "La Ortichola", lands belonging to the Upper Triassic and more specifically to the Keuper facies.
Aragonite at this site is presented in individual crystals of pseudohexagonal prismatic habit, size ranges from approximately 2-3 cm to 10-12 cm and the crystals have no gloss and are badly eroded. They are scattered between Keuper clays and are likely weathered out of the surrounding rock on the land currently devoted to crops.
