Three Buttes Mine


A small manganese mine near Omak. It produced 750 tons of ore averaging 20% manganese.
Structure: The Quartz Monzonite Was Probably Emplaced In A Magmatic Arc.

Geology: The deposit occurs in hydrothermally altered quartz monzonite of the pogue mountain quartz monzonite (gulick and korosec, 1990, p. 24).

Ore(s): Two Quartz Veins Are Present In The Decomposed Granite; One Is 2 Ffet Wide And The Other Is One Foot Wide. Manganese Minerals Occur In Stringers In The Quartz And As Disseminations In The Granite (Huntting, 1956, P. 261).
