A quarry located on Kentucky highway 108, 1.8 miles south of U.S. highway 60/Kentucky highway 55.

Old pit (closed in mid 1970's) on south side of road beyond quarry office. Newer quarries on north side of road (fenced in). Consists of a pit beside KY108 (no longer used) and another pit further north.

About 50' of New Albany Shale overburden is removed to expose a layer of the Boyle Limestone and the upper Drakes (Bull Fork?) Formation. Calcite occurs in the dolostone beneath the New Albany Shale (often bitumen-coated). Pale brown calcite also found inside sky-blue chert lenses or nodules.

Calcite occurs in simple rhombs (to 3.2 cm) and in odd stacked rhombs forming scalenohedrons. Quartz occurs as chert or sub-millimeter stringy aggregates of crystals. Bitumen can be thick and tarry or forming a thin highly iridescent sheen on crystal faces. Dolomite occurs in 1 - 2 mm crystals white to pink in small vugs in a breccia.

May be same as Ward & Montgomery, or could be the quarry across the road.
