NOTE: There is confusion concerning the location of this occurrence. The lack of a USGS MRDS database file number for the locality renders the situation hopeless in further defining this occurrence based on the limited data provided. It is, however, only 1 of a cluster of 4 similarly situated occurrences, 2 of which are named, and have MRDS file numbers. The data provided for those 2 localities, with an adjustment of the longitude value of 117° versus 118°, place the cluster in the Jackass Flats area of Inyo County, versus the Lost Peak area of Fresno County, consistent with the MAS MILS file numbers assigned (Inyo County sequence).
