Ancient copper mine. Consolidated in 1861 into the Apfel mine.
Located in the Vollbach valley, 2 km SE of Herkenrath, 3.5 km ENE of Bensberg and about 7 km NW of Overath.
Concession for iron,lead, copper and zinc granted to Vieille Montagne on 28-10-1903. When VM was discontinued in 1989, the rights were taken over by Umicore.
