| ⓘ Calcite Formula: CaCO3 Colour: colorless Description: Fills spaces between other minerals, no well formed crystals. References: |
| ⓘ Epidote Formula: (CaCa)(AlAlFe3+)O[Si2O7][SiO4](OH) Colour: green Description: The epidote is mostly massive, filling spaces between other minerals. there are a few better formed crystals I found, although they were in quartz and not freely exposed in vugs or in calcite like they are in other nearby areas. | ⓘ 'Garnet Group' Formula: X3Z2(SiO4)3 Colour: brownish red Description: The garnet crystals, which I believe are grossular, occurs in fractures in the rocks, some of which are massive garnet themselves. Most is a drusy coating on the surface, with only partially formed, but very shiny crystals. I did also find some more complete dodecahedral crystals though. Most are small, maybe 2-3mm although I found partial facets suggesting the size could get into the multiple cm range. The smaller ones are clear, with quality going down as size goes up.
