A questionable locality.
Ford et al. (1993) provide an approximate grid reference (SK2454) that plots about half a mile east of Brassington. However, Brassington Moor is the name given to the plateau around Longcliffe hamlet, about half a mile north of Brassington. There are old mine workings in both areas and it remains unclear whether it was the grid references or the locality names that have been confused, i.e. to which area they actually refer.
