Location: This occurrence is at an elevation of about 5,200 feet on the northeast flank of Mt. Watana; it is about 1.0 mile northeast of Mt. Watana and approximately 1.5 miles west-southwest of the north end of Watana Lake. The location is accurate to within 1/4 mile.
Geology: This occurrence is in Paleozoic iron-stained, siliceous argillite. A U.S. Geological Survey rock sample contains 13,480 parts per million barium (J. Schmidt, written commun., 2001).
Workings: Only surface sampling by U.S. Geological Survey (J. Schmidt, written commun., 2001).
Alteration: The argillite is silicified and iron-stained.
