Location: This occurrence is at an elevation of about 3,100 feet on the east, valley wall of a south tributary of Fog Creek. It is approximately 1.2 miles southwest of the top of hill 4960, near the center of the SW1/4 sec. 20, T. 30 N., R. 5 E., Seward Meridian. The location is accurate to within 1/4 mile.
Geology: This occurrence consists of a copper-stained, 30-cm-thick section of silicified gossan in Paleozoic sedimentary rocks (J. Schmidt, written commun., 2001). A U.S. Geological Survey rock sample contains 4.69 percent copper, 123 parts per million bismuth, 353 parts per million zinc, and 74 parts per million arsenic.
Workings: Only surface sampling by U.S. Geological Survey (J. Schmidt, written commun., 2001).
Alteration: Gossan is silicified and copper-stained.
