Located within Gates of the Arctic National Park.
Location: This site is about 3.5 miles east-northeast of Danger Pass at the 3400 foot elevation. It is in the E1/2 of sec. 31, T. 24 N., R. 15 E., of the Kateel River Merdian. Location accurate to within 200 ft. The site corresponds to localty 12 of Grybeck and Nelson (1981).
Geology: This occurrence consists of a grab sample of thin, locally copper-stained, quartz veins that cut orange-weathering marble of the Devonian-Siluran Skagit Limestone (Nelson and Grybeck, 1980; Grybeck and Nelson, 1981). Selected samples contain up to 70 ppm Ag, 1 percent Cu, 1 percent Sb, and 2000 ppm Zn. The veins apparently are of only local extent.
Workings: Work restricted to limited surface sampling during geologic mapping by USGS in the late 1970s.
