This site is located on land interim-conveyed to, or patented by, the Bristol Bay Native Corporation.
Location: This occurrence is on the Alaska Peninsula east of Ivanof River. The map site is at an elevation of 1,500 feet, in the NE1/4 of sec. 16, T. 49 S., R. 65 W., of the Seward Meridian. It is referred to as SBRGX-52 in Wilson and others (1988, locality 26). The location is accurate to within 2 miles.
Geology: This occurrence is probably in sedimentary units of the Lower Cretaceous Naknek Formation (Wilson and others, 1995). It consists of hornfelsed siltstone and sandstone (Wilson and others, 1988). One sample collected by the U.S. Geological Survey was reported to be anomalous in copper and silver.
Workings: Rock sample 86AGs18c, collected by the U.S. Geological Survey in the mid-1980's, was reported to be anomalous in copper and silver (Wilson and others, 1988).
