Location: This site is on the northwest shore of Road Island in Ivanof Bay. It is referred to as SBRGX-51 in Wilson and others (1988, locality 25). The location is accurate to within 1,200 feet.
Geology: This occurrence is in within volcanic rocks of the Eocene to Oligocene Meshik Formation (Wilson and others, 1995). A sample from a lahar deposit collected at this site by the U.S. Geological Survey is reported to be anomalous in copper and gold (Wilson and others, 1988).
Workings: Rock sample 83AWs84, collected by the U.S. Geological Survey in the mid-1980's, was reported to be anomalous in gold and copper (Wilson and others, 1988).
