This occurrence is located on land selected by the Aleut Corporation.
Location: This site is located at the north end of Turner Island in East Nagai Strait. It is referred to as SBRGX-37 in Wilson and others (1988, locality 11). The location is accurate to within 2,500 feet.
Geology: The country rocks at this occurrence are sedimentary units of the Lower Cretaceous Shumagin Formation (Wilson and others, 1995). Wilson and others (1988) report anomalous zinc values in sandstone, siltstone, and shale.
Workings: Rock samples 84AJm649-650 collected by the U. S. Geological Survey in the mid-1980's were reported to be anomalous in zinc (Wilson and others, 1988).
