Location: This occurrence is at an elevation of 3,500 feet; about one-half mile west of the south end of Landmark Gap Lake. It is at the northwest corner of section 18, T. 21 S., R. 9 E., Fairbanks Meridian. The location is accurate within about 800 feet.
Geology: This prospect is hosted by an Upper Triassic mafic-ultramafic intrusive complex that is comagmatic with the basalt flows of the Nikolai Greenstone (Nokleberg and others, 1991; L. Hulbert, oral communication, 2001). Net-textured to massive pyrrhotite was found in a gabbro sill near the base of the Nikolai Greenstone at this site. There are virtually no base or precious metals associated with the sulfides (L.D. Hulbert, oral communication, 2001).

Age: Late Triassic, the age of the host rock.
