The locality is in the Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park and Preserve.
Location: This occurrence is on the southwest flank of Joshua Green Peak. It is at an elevation of about 6,300 feet, 2,200 feet southwest of the peak in the NW1/4 of section 8, T. 6 S., R. 17 E. of the Copper River Meridian. This is locality 53 of MacKevett (1976); the location is accurate to within a few hundred feet.
Geology: This occurrence consists of an intensely iron-stained altered fault zone cuts Triassic Chitistone Limestone and siliciclastic rocks of the Triassic to Lower Jurassic(?) McCarthy Formation (MacKevett, 1970 [B 1333]; MacKevett and Smith, 1972; MacKevett, 1976). A sample from the altered zone contained 1,500 parts per million antimony (MacKevett and Smith, 1968).
Workings: Limited surface sampling.
Age: Jurassic or younger based on the age of the host rocks.
Alteration: Oxidation; iron-staining marks the altered zone.
