Stream gradient approximately 300 feet per mile in headwater section of creek.
Location: This occurrence is at an elevation of about 400 feet near the confluence of two headwaters forks of an unnamed tributary to Kanik Creek, about two miles southeast of Clem Mountain. The map site is in section 35, T. 7 N., R. 13 W., of the Kateel River Meridian. Cobb, 1972 (MF-389), location 22.
Geology: This occurrence consists of Cretaceous granite that may contain uranium-bearing minerals. Uranothorianite and trace of thorite were found in stream gravel concentrate samples (Gault and others, 1953).
Workings: Pan concentrate samples were collected and analyzed for uranium content by the U.S. Geological Survey in 1947 (Gault and others, 1953).
Age: Quaternary.
