Stream gradient approximately 200 feet per mile in lower mile of creek.
Location: This occurrence is along a small, westward-flowing tributary to Duck Creek about 1.5 mile from its junction with that creek. The map site is in section 16, T. 6 N., R. 13 W., of the Kateel River Meridian. Cobb, 1972 (MF-389), location 20.
Geology: Bedrock in the area is undifferentiated Cretaceous granite that may contain uranium-bearing minerals. No outcrops are present at the occurrence. Uranothorianite was identified in a pan concentrate sample of stream gravels (Gault and others, 1953).
Workings: Pan concentrate samples collected and analyzed for uranium content by the U.S. Geological Survey (Gault and others, 1953).
