Location: Cobb (1972, MF-413), loc. 12; NE1/4NW1/4 sec. 1, T. 2 N., R. 1 W., of the Fairbanks Meridian. The Thrift mine is near the ridgetop, adjacent to the old railroad grade marked on the Livengood (A-2) quadrangle. It is just west of the Elliot Highway, about 4 miles SE of the Chatanika River.
Geology: Some ore from a quartz vein reported to have been mined and milled before 1912, yielded about 0.53 ounces of gold per ton (Smith, 1913; B 525).
