Location: This placer gold occurrence is on Squaw Creek, a tributary of the Middle Fork Chulitna River. The map site is just south of the center of sec. 16, T. 19 S., R. 9 W., of the Fairbanks Meridian. Placer activity has occurred from about the map site, downstream for about a mile. This is location E-13 of Balen (1990: OFR 34-90). The location is accurate to within 0.5 mile.
Geology: Squaw Creek drains an area of unconsolidated Quaternary fluvial and glacial deposits. The source of the placer gold is unknown.
Workings: Surface only.
Age: Quaternary.
