Location: Location plotted is locality shown in Cobb and others (1981, p. A15), in T12S, R25W; on a small tributary about 1 mi (1.6 km) upstream (east) of its confluence with Safari Creek and 2 mi (3.2 km) south-southeast of hill 2964; located to within 1 mi (1.6 km).
Geology: Barite occurs as sparse but rich concentrations of nodules weathered out of the Pennsylvanian-Permian Siksikpuk Formation in area of orange and red, iron-stained soil (Cobb and others, 1981, p. A15).
