Location: June Creek is reportedly in the northwest one-quarter of the northwest one-quarter of the Norton Bay quadrangle (Cobb, 1976 [OFR 76-866]). No further specific location information is known. The coordinates are for an arbitrary point along the Kwik River. The location is known only to within a 25 mile radius.
Geology: The rocks in the northwest corner of the Norton Bay quadrangle consist of Cretaceous Ungalik conglomerate and younger white quartzite, calcareous schist, white crystalline limestone, black quartzite, graphitic slate and schist (Cass, 1959). A prospector in 1928 reported finding a little gold along June Creek (Smith, 1930). Smith (1932) reports that the prospecting was apparently fruitless and that no one was prospecting the creek in 1929. There are no subsequent reports of prospecting along June Creek, or of June Creek's location.
