Location: The IXL prospect is located 500 feet downstream from the Blue Moon Mazeppa prospect (ARDF no. LG128) on north side of Chatham Creek; SE1/4 sec. 19, T. 3 N., R. 2 E., of the Fairbanks Meridian.
Geology: The claim was being explored by Fred C. Robinson in 1938 and 25 tons of high grade material was hand cobbed from the dumps. This ore averaged $22 per ton in gold (0.63 ounces of gold per ton) (Reed, 1939).
Workings: The IXL prospect was originally discovered prior to 1912 and was known as the Union claim. The IXL prospect eventually came under the ownership of Nels Giske, Paul Ringseth, Willie Larson and Louis Grimsmoe who staked the North Star Group which included the North Star, Union, Bill Taft and Grimsmoe claims (Times Publishing Company, 1912). The claim was being explored by Fred C. Robinson in 1938 and 25 tons of high grade material was hand cobbled from the dumps. This ore averaged $22 per ton in gold (0.63 ounces of gold per ton) (Reed, 1939).
Production: Twenty five tons of material averaging 0.63 ounces of gold per ton was hand cobbled from the dumps (Reed, 1939).
