This site is within the Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve.
Location: The location of the Irish Gulch is not known. Cobb (1972 [MF-390]) reports that it may be within the southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of the Charley River quadrangle, within the Circle mining district. Coordinates have been arbitrarily placed near the head of Maud Creek, in T. 3 N., R. 25 E., of the Fairbanks Meridian.
Geology: There was some placer gold found, but there is no record of mining along the creek (Mertie, 1942).
Workings: At some point prior to 1942, placer gold was found in the creek.
Age: Quaternary?

Development Status: Undetermined.
Deposit Model: Placer Au (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 39a).
