Location: This site is a 1,500 foot -long area of placer workings centered on the mouth of Camp Creek where it joins with Coffee Creek. This location is 1,000 feet east of the Nome-Taylor road. It is locality 44 of Cobb (1972; MF 417).
Geology: A small area of mining at the intersection of Camp Creek with Coffee Creek was mapped by Sainsbury and others (1969). The Camp Creek/Coffee Creek area is underlain by low grade, Lower Paleozoic metasedimentary rocks (Till and others, 1986).
Workings: About 1,500 feet of the active stream channel has been mined by open cut methods, probably a dozer and sluice operation.
