Formerly: Saint-Philippe Quarry (DJL Quarry), Saint-Philippe-de-Laprairie, Roussillon Co., Québec, Canada

Opened in 1965 by Mégantic Construction, this two-level, 550 x 375 meter quarry is now operated by Construction DJL.

The following description was taken from the Deposit File of the MRNF (Ministère des ressources naturelles et de la faune) :

These limestones are part of the Laval Formation of the Chazy Group. The rock being worked is a thick-bedded, light gray calcarenite enclosing small lenses of dolostone and beds of clayey limestone with a nodular texture.

Most minerals are found in vertical fractures cutting the limestone. A large one being lined with calcite, containing crystals up to 25cm, and weathered, thin ones with either marcasite or fluorine covered with white creamy clay mineral.
