Outcrop near Contrada Pinerolo of carbonate rocks (calcareous dolomite) affected by contact metamorphism, originated from the intrusion of Triassic vulcanites.
In this area a small brucite marble quarry, now completely hidden in the thick vegetation, operated in the last century.
The peculiar mineral of this locality is hydromagnesite, which appears as snow-white globular aggregates consisting of well-formed lamellar crystals with sharp termination.
