Contrada Pinerolo (Cava di marmo presso Contrada Pinerolo), Val di Riolo, Torrebelvicino, Vicenza, Veneto, Italia


Outcrop near Contrada Pinerolo of carbonate rocks (calcareous dolomite) affected by contact metamorphism, originated from the intrusion of Triassic vulcanites.
In this area a small brucite marble quarry, now completely hidden in the thick vegetation, operated in the last century.

The peculiar mineral of this locality is hydromagnesite, which appears as snow-white globular aggregates consisting of well-formed lamellar crystals with sharp termination.
