The Childe Harold Gold Mine is an open pit, just north-west of the Granny Smith mines, which it shares a similar geology to.
The deposit is part of the Granny Smith Shear. Gold is related to a quartz-feldspar porphyry intrusive. This in turn is hosted within a diverse lithological package including shale, banded iron formation, ultramafic and hematite altered highly sulphidic granodiorite.
