Fluorite occurrences approximately 30 km northeast of Uis, hosted by granites. Near the D3715 road. Coordinates are copied from the Mineralienatlas website (see link below).

Locality description according to the Mineralienatlas website (see link below):

Approximately 30 km north of Uis on the road to Khorixas, to the right of the road is the district called Omehane. Here, in the Damara granite, some fluorite veins occur which have been partly researched. Apparently, these quantities were deemed to be too small to be economically viable. A claim holder has recently examined the veins and after close inspection was able to salvage a few beautiful fluorite specimens. The fluorite is parqueted, with crystals up to 4 cm in size and sitting on a matrix consisting of small quartz crystals. The colour is mostly blue under sunlight and greenish grey under artificial light; coarsely crystallized green and rarely purple fluorite also occurs.

The possibilities for finding collectable specimens are rather limited; however, nice calcite crystals and small fluorites can be found when the claim holder is asked for permission before setting foot on the land.
