Cashmans is a number of small mineral occurrences and prospects containing copper and copper-gold. It is located about 10 kilometres west of the Great Northern Highway and Meekatharra-Ashburton Downs Road intersection. To reach head along the old road before the diversion to the north was built. Then turn west. When visited in 2015, the road was in poor condition, and the mine active. The name Cashburn is mentioned in Marston, and it is assumed this was the result of much expenditure for little return. Marston also states the mine is named Holden's Find, however this is a separate locality 6 kilometres to the north-west.
The historic Hard to Find gold workings and old Cashmans copper mine are only 250 metres apart. The copper mine produced 7 tonnes of ore grading at 16.5% Cu. The copper mineralization consists of a cupriferous limonite vein less than 1 metre wide, and dipping shallowly north-west. Chrysocolla and malachite form as disseminations and veinlets. Gold is found in a quartz vein 10 cm thick with supergene enrichment.
Named after Cashman and party who discovered it in 1913. A small rush at the time ensued with fifty leases applied for, mainly from Adelaide syndicates. Located 20 kilometres west of Ruby Well, and approximately 60 kilometres north of Meekatharra. There was a small production of gold from the quartz veins in 1937. Then across 1986-1987 a small pit was excavated producing 8000 tonnes of ore. The gold bearing quartz veins are within meta basalitic hydrochastite (?). There is a 30 metres deep zone of supergene enrichment. This scene is likely to have changed with modern developments.
