A chromium mine just west of Cypress Lake on Cypress Island. This mine worked disseminated chromite in serpentine.
Structure: San Juan Thrust
Alteration: Dunite Has Been Serpentinized
Tectonics: Accreted Terrane
Deposit: Record m045070 has been merged and deleted. Chromite forms irregular veinlets 1 in. Or more thick and bunches of pockets 1 ft or more in diameter. Surrounding masses of serpentine contain disseminated chromite. There may be small placer accumulations on beaches near deposit - this has not been confirmed
Deposit type: Podiform chromite (minor)
Geology: Host rocks are part of ophiolite-arc volcanic sequence in the decatur terrane, structurally highest unit of the san juan thrust system
