Baryte deposit due to post-Oligocene thermal spring activity.
Located west of Saint-Sandoux, northeast of Olloix and south of Saint-Saturnin. On labels, the locality is often attributed to one of the former villages.
How to get there: "(Coming from Saint-Amant-Tallende). Take the N9 from Clermont to the aforementioned locality and turn right on the D213. The old Côte d'Abot workings are located on the right side of the D119 after the intersection with the D28. Honey-coloured baryte in good, sometimes twinned crystals." (Belot, 1978).
NOTE: The site is a private property and the owner doesn't give any access as he exploits the vein a few weeks each year.
There are a lot of 'Propriété Privée - Entrée Interdite' (private property - access not authorized) signs all around the site.
