A quartz mine located 1½ miles West of Blue Springs. Mineralization is quartz veins in Blakeley Sandstone. Started 1940 and closed 1943 and reopened many times since with a 1985 find of spectacular specimens. Workings featured 2 adits and numerous pits & cuts.

The mine re-opened in the early 1980s by Jimmie Coleman for "rip rap" construction material. During the blasting of the unassuming "blue sandstone" layer an enormous crystal pocket was found around 1982 by Doug Ellison. This pocket contained several tons of crystals some of which were up to 3 feet long and 1 foot thick. They were generally milky but had good luster. Jimmie Coleman then purchased the property from Mini McEarl who had an old family homestead there. Other pockets were hit, but in 1987 a major pocket produced what are generally considered the finest quartz crystals ever found. They have this distinction due to their luster, clarity, size, sharpness and attractive striations. This last pocket was hit near the property boundary and no mining has been done since.
