The Goble quarry has been in operation since the 1940s with a brief name change around 2000 to the Nicolai quarry. It has been renamed the Goble quarry. The west (active) end of the quarry produce few specimens, mostly copper with calcite on heulandite with the old, forgotten, unused east end of the quarry unexplored. In 1989 Gloria Cook, while leading a field trip with students from the school across from the quarry discovered zeolites in the far east end of the quarry. Collecting was allowed by the owners at that time whose son was one of the students on the field trip. The owner even blasted the zeolite-bearing rock so that more specimens could be collected. The quarry changed owners and collecting is now not allowed. The quarry is operated for crushed rock and landscape rock at SW1/4 SW1/4 Sec. 12, 122W T6N Rainier Quadrangle.
