"En pegmatitt på Dovre", Hjerkinn, Dovre, Oppland, Norge

A pegmatite occurring in an unusual geological environment, probably eocambrian quartzitic schists (sparagmite). Pegmatoid formations in similar geological environments have also been reported from further east in the Alvdal area (Kleine-Hering, 1969).

It is located at the foot of Kolla mountain (1651 m) just a few metres north of the border of the former military area Hjerkinn Skytefelt (today Hjerkinn Landskapsvernomrade).

Several pegmatite blocks lying around are evidence of blasting activities.

Refered to by Selbekk (1991) as "I en pegmatitt på Dovre" [in a pegmatite in Dovre"]
