Monte da Franqueira - this hill extends through the parishes of Carvalhal and Pereira, and extends to Faria, Milhazes, Vilar de Figos and Góios. Access is via the National Road no. 205 (Barcelos - Póvoa de Varzim) and, later, by the Municipal Road no. 1111 by the parish of Carvalhal. It is also possible to access this place through the parish of Pereira, through the same Estrada Municipal and / or through the Estrada Nacional no. 306 (Barcelos-Fontaínhas) or, still, by the parishes of Faria and Milhazes by the road that connects to the Castle of Faria. It is a very pleasant area, in environmental terms, and a magnificent viewpoint over the sea coast from Esposende to Póvoa de Varzim. From here, the final course of the Cávado River is visible, and you can also enjoy a fantastic view of the city and surroundings of Barcelos. In addition, it also provides a panoramic view of Monte do Sameiro and Bom Jesus in Braga and the mountain ranges of Gerês to the East. [Monte da Franqueira - este monte estende-se pelas Freguesias de Carvalhal e Pereira, e estende-se até Faria, Milhazes, Vilar de Figos e Góios. O acesso é feito a partir da Estrada Nacional no. 205 (Barcelos - Póvoa de Varzim) e, posteriormente, pela Estrada Municipal no. 1111 pela freguesia de Carvalhal. É possível também aceder a este local pela freguesia de Pereira, através da mesma Estrada Municipal e/ou através da Estrada Nacional no. 306 (Barcelos-Fontaínhas) ou, ainda, pelas freguesias de Faria e Milhazes pela estrada que liga ao Castelo de Faria. Trata-se de uma área muito aprazível, em termos ambientais, e um magnífico miradouro sobre a orla costeira marítima de Esposende até Póvoa de Varzim. Deste local é visível todo o curso final do rio Cávado, podendo ainda desfrutar-se de uma vista fantástica da cidade e arredores de Barcelos. Além disso, proporciona ainda uma panorâmica sobre o Monte do Sameiro e do Bom Jesus em Braga e as serranias do Gerês a Este.
