Old mapping dating to 1880 indicates the existence of a small mine identified as 'Tamar Mine' lying on the bank of the River Tamar a short distance to the north of Cargreen.

Despite the map indicating it t be a disused tin mine, it is more likely that any mineralisation would have been lead or copper.

There currently appears to be very little information about this working.
