A pegmatite deposit and former surface mica-quartz mine located in secs. 6, 7 & 8, T4S, R2E, at the south end of the Seven Mile Mountain and about 1¾ miles NNE of Enid. NOTE: May be identical to one or both of the other similar entries for the Sierra Estrella. Deposit extends over secs. 7 & 8.
Mineralization is several small pegmatite bodies in schist. Intergrown K-feldspar and quartz occur with mica. The mica sheets are ruled, rumpled, or flawed. The schist strikes N30-60E and dips steeply; the pegmatites have various strikes and dips.
Workings include prospect openings of shallow pits and bulldozer trenches. Prior to 1952 there was some experimental production of mica.
